Soho Radio

With Wonderhood Studios

We were pleased to collaborate again with Soho Radio, delivering a new station booth sign as part of their refreshed identity developed by Wonderhood Studios. The brief called for a bold and characterful piece that could translate the new graphic language into a physical installation, while remaining clear and legible within the broadcast environment.

The sign was constructed from multiple layers of laser-cut acrylic, enabling the typography and graphic elements to be built up in relief. This layered approach gives the piece a strong presence, with overlapping forms and crisp edges creating shadow lines. As lighting shifts and viewpoints change, the sign takes on a sense of movement, enhancing its impact both in the space and on camera.

The design draws directly from the rebrands playful aesthetic, carefully translating its graphic language into a three-dimensional sign. Consideration was given to scale, proportion, and contrast to ensure the sign performs suitably.

Acrylic was selected for its precision, consistency, and ability to carry colour with clarity and depth. Each layer was carefully cut, finished, and aligned, with close attention paid to tolerances and assembly to ensure a refined outcome. The construction allows the typography to read sharply on screen, avoiding mess or glare that could interfere with filming.

The completed installation acts as a focal point within the station booth, reinforcing Soho Radio’s updated identity while supporting practical demands. The result is a high-impact signage solution that balances expressive branding with technical performance, embedding the new identity seamlessly into the everyday rhythm of the studio.
